Commissioned by Height Difference Duo for the 2019 International Women's Brass Conference, The Hobbit and the Elf is reflective both of the clear height difference of Candace Neal and Stephen Ivany and my love for Lord of the Rings, Dungeons and Dragons, and fantasy stories. The two parts are at odds with one another till the end of the relaxed B section before a recapitulation of the A theme.
